Mariano Rivera Honored By Foundation

Iconic New York Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera was presented with the Outstanding Charitable Person Award, which recognizes individuals that have been exceptionally supportive of The Breadwinners Foundation. Though Mr. Rivera’s on field accomplishments have been well chronicled, his heroics in the charitable arena have allowed him to profoundly impact the lives of many, while garnering far less fanfare. Foundation President and Founder Keith J. Ahlers praised him, “Mariano has a dignity and graciousness on the field as well as off. He never forgets where he has come from and the adversity he has seen.” Specifically, the pitcher contributed a number of valuable New York Yankees memorabilia items which were auctioned off with the proceeds going to support The Breadwinners Foundation. The presentation of the award was one of the highlights of the annual Breadwinners Foundation Golf Outing, held at The Canyon Club in Armonk, New York.
