New Member Appointed to Board

The Breadwinners Foundation is proud to announce that longtime supporter and friend of the organization Joseph Zito has accepted a position on the Board of Directors.

The addition will surely aid the foundation in its mission to provide short term financial assistance and resource information to families facing economic hardship due to the tragic loss of a primary breadwinner.

A project manager for local contracting company Murphy Brothers Inc., Mr Zito has been a tremendous supporter of the organization for a number of years, and has taken a personal interest in helping us grow. Furthermore, his profession allows him to come into contact and build relationships with numerous individuals in new communities on a regular basis. This affords him ample opportunities to act as an ambassador for The Breadwinners Foundation, spreading our message and generating support in the local community.

Having been a close friend of founder and president Keith J. Ahlers, Joseph has assisted the foundation in a number of ways since the organization’s founding in 2001, helping to organize and oversee a number of important fund raising events.

Ahlers was enthusiastic about welcoming Zito to the board, “Joe is incredibly dedicated to the foundation’s mission, he feels a real connection to these families and his passion to make a difference is truly inspirational.”

Mr. Zito has assisted other philanthropic organizations in the past, such as the Putnam Humane Society, and was compelled to act upon learning of The Breadwinners Foundation. The new board member explained, “It’s shocking how drastically life can change if just a few things go wrong, and I am proud to be a part of an organization helping families recover from tragedy.”
