Trapped in an Impossible Situation

As the sole guardian of her 15 year old grandson, S. was no stranger to the struggles of everyday life. But when she was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer, things began to spiral out of control. Multiple surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment took a tremendous tole on her. Forced to cut back on work, she eventually fell behind on rent. Thousands in debt to her landlord, she was unable to move to more affordable housing and trapped in an impossible situation.
