A Tragic Surprise

L. and R. planned on growing old together. L. thought that someday they would both be able to retire and enjoy their golden years. That was before R. was diagnosed with prostate and bladder cancer. From that day forward, she had only two concerns, paying her husband's medical bills and spending as much time with him as possible. She didn't even realize how important his income was or how far into debt she had fallen until after he had passed away. Suddenly, she was alone, in debt, and facing eviction. Finding a second job during an economic recession was harder than she ever imagined, and she simply could not catch up.
